Crazy Diamond, Trinity and more

Since I left Ghost Community earlier this year, I haven't been idle! I've been up to my eyeballs preparing live rigs, editing videos and even managing to get some writing done. One of the biggest things though was being a part of Kim Seviour's band for Trinity 2 in May this year. She's written a stonking debut solo album with John Mitchell (pre-order here!) with some really juicy keyboard parts to get my teeth into. It was a pleasure to play with her again with a full band. It was a great laugh and we loved devilering "arguably the set of the day". Hopefully we can do it again some time...

I've also been hard at work preparing Crazy Diamond's live show. When I haven't been honing my Hammond organ techniques I've been going through their back catalogue piecing together all the vintage sounds on my new Moog Sub37. When I haven't been doing either of those I've been putting together the videos that we run during the show. Just about every song has a film to go with it, and they're all click-synced. Fortunately my DAW of choice Reaper is also a very capable video editor and I use it live to run both videos and sound effects. It's been a bit of a learning curve but also a lot of fun; I'd love to do more.

Finally I wrote a short overture for the Rondo Theatre Company's production of Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters. I'm a big fan of his writing and so had a lot of fun producing a slightly warped take on various medieval music tropes - with the odd bit of hard rock guitar thrown in among the crumhorns and elephant noises. I'll post it up on my Soundcloud as usual soon.

Next up, some new North Haverbrook songs and maybe even some solo material. Watch this space!
